The app had cluttered interface along with not well considered data architecture, it was not easy for users to navigate. As a result, it had steep learning curve for first time users that made user engagement very hard.
Results
Redesigned entire app by rebuild data architecture and declutter interface. Simple navigation with search, filter and sorting features for key data. Introduced dashboard that can overview favorited and recently visited data along side with presets to easier onboarding.

Process
Research & Analysis: We conducted interview to uncover several pain points with their current analytics platform. We also studied competitive research to understand industry trends.
Information Architecture: With the outcome from user interview, we created user persona and user journey. Based on this data, we rebuilt app's navigation and contents and prioritized information based on user's demand.

Wireframing & Prototyping: We started off with lo-fi wireframes to visualize researched data. With few iterations, we were able to create a high fidelity prototype for the usability test.
Usability Testing: The test was conducted to reveal how users adopt to the new design and navigate new structure. Based on feedback, we made couple changes on navigation flow and re-prioritizing dashboard contents.

Visual Design & Style Guide: We created new user interfaces such as icon, data grid and charts that matches with the Emburse's design system. We then added the new styles to App's story book for future updates.
"We went from having 13 standalone expense management systems and numerous other Excel variations to one unified, global solution with Emburse."
