K1 Travel

Designed a tailored mobile app for booking and managing business travel, aligned with K1’s brand identity. Developed the overall look and feel, including a cohesive design system that ensures visual and functional consistency across the app. This included defining a color palette, typography, iconography, and graphic elements. Created flat image header designs featuring K1’s signature typeface and imagery style. The app provides users with relevant travel information and services—before, during, and after their journey.

Challenge

The app design was not represent organization's identity so it was not cohesive with other products.

On the other hand, the app needed to provide more accurate information that is applicable to the organization's travel policies and needed to be more discoverable.

Results

The app redesigned based on organization's brand guideline. I adopted brand colors, images, and fonts to the app to have the same look and feel with the other products.

The app logo and splash page was redesigned to represent company's identity, Mt. Masherbrum (K1).

Reintroduced navigation in the home screen so users were able to find shortcuts to the data more easy.

Process

Research & Analysis: We conducted client interview and user interview to understand the current pain points and vision that they were looking for. We also run analysis on current app to study the structure and user flow.


Information Architecture: Based on research findings, we restructured screens to be more clear and intuitive. For the home screen, we decided to introduce shortcuts to help easier navigation.


Wireframing & Prototyping: With organization's color palette and new structure, we designed low fidelity wireframe. Then we developed it into high fidelity mockup and applied new graphics that matches with the brand guide.


Usability Testing: We conducted usability test to validate the design and flow. Based on feedbacks, we made iterations to the design.


Visual Design & Style Guide: We created new set of visual guide for the app including new graphics and visual elements.

Conclusion

K1 travel app was successfully redesigned with brand appropriate user interface and improved usability. The iteration received many positive feedbacks from users in the organization.
